In the United States, Netflix received a good response after criticized measures
Contrary to public expectations, the Netflix got even more signatures after closing in on account sharing. In the United States, the streaming platform broke the record of the beginning of the pandemic, according to the survey antenna (via Folha de S.Paulo).
Between May 26th and 27th, Netflix reached 100,000 daily subscriptions. The announcement that, in order to share the password, users should pay an extra fee was made a few days earlier, on May 23rd.
The previous biggest peak had been recorded between March and April 2020, when people were confined at home by the covid-19 pandemic.
In Europe, however, the scenario was different. A Netflix suffered a loss of 1 million subscriptions in Spain in the first quarter of 2023, according to a Kantar survey. The streaming platform itself confirmed the loss of users in the territories where the new measures were first applied.
