Harrison Ford says goodbye to Indiana Jones
Fifteen years after the archaeologist-focused fourth installment, the time has come for Harrison Ford to put away his whip, leather jacket, and fedora. And to conclude more than forty years of the saga, the actor reprises the role of the hero one last time in Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destinyfor which James Mangold (Logano, Le Mans 66) succeeds Steven Spielberg as director.

An unfolding final work in 1969, during the space race, in which Indiana Jones is reunited with an old enemy, the Nazi Jürgen Voller (Mads Mikkelsen). The latter is in search of the mythical quadrant of Archimedes, which Helena Shaw (Phoebe Waller-Bridge), the archaeologist’s goddaughter, also covets. The hero thus finds himself embarked on a new adventure to the four corners of the world, and time…
Sequence of emotions
In full promotion of the blockbuster, Harrison Ford had a very touching exchange with British journalist Ali Plumb for the BBC, as revealed by the latter on Twitter this Monday 19th June 2023. When asked about the success and about the love fans have for the franchise for several decades, the actor replied:
(It’s) thanks to the talent of the writers and directors, as well as the actors who put their hearts and souls into it. The characters and stories are so compelling and captivating. It is a mix of adventure, humor and emotion. But what I admire most in these films is the depth and subtlety of the emotions.
The actor explained that he loved filming this last part, especially because he talks the passage of time and ageing. Themes in which she recognized herself. Harrison Ford then had tears in my eyes when Ali Plumb thanked him on behalf of all the fans and expressed his admiration and love. The star then launched himself to the journalist with emotion:
I have to thank you too, sincerely. It means a lot to me.
Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny it is to be discovered in cinemas from June 28, 2023.
