Stephanie, who first appeared at the Bowl in 2004, recalls her favorite moments on the runway as a performer and as an audience member:
What does the title of the beginning of this year 100 mean to you?
I am truly honored to have been chosen to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Hollywood Bowl. This is a legendary place to play.
How do you want to honor the place and its history with your performance?
It’s really exciting to play my songs in this sophisticated orchestral arrangement. I cried for the first time when I heard an arrangement shared by music director Derrick Hodge. I know this is going to be an amazing time to play with LA Phil and legend Gustavo Dudamel. We also had fun with YOLA [Youth Orchestra Los Angeles] And artists from UCLA Bruin and USC Trojan March who can’t wait to meet people.

What was your most memorable performance at the Bowl?
My 2005 Harajuku Lovers Tour Angel of Love. Song. Boy. Album. I just found out I was pregnant with my first child, Kingston, and no one knew it at the time. This was my first solo tour, so it was a really big and special time in my life for many reasons.
Do you have a favorite show that you experienced as an audience member?
I saw Dolly Parton and it was amazing because she’s an amazing performer, not only as a singer and songwriter, but also in the way she interacts with the audience. Chat with them, share stories, it’s a lot of fun. I learned a lot from him that night. I saw Coldplay there too and it was a euphoric night.
What do you think makes the Bowl a place of worship?
Something really special is happening at the bow. People can bring a nice dinner, a picnic, they have their own boxes. You are under the night sky and enjoying the great outdoors. It’s very Hollywood. This is a great and different way to feel the music. It’s so cultured and has been a staple of Los Angeles for so many years. And now I have to celebrate 100 years with them.
