Kate Bush is as excited as anyone that her 1985 single “Running Up That Hill” is still on the charts after appearing in its fourth season. Weird stuff.
Bush, who rarely makes public appearances or appears these days, posted a personal post on his website to show his gratitude for his newfound love for music and the discovery of all new fans. “You may have heard that the first part of a fantastic and fascinating new series Weird stuff “Just came out on Netflix,” wrote the British music icon. “It includes the song ‘Running Up That Hill’, which breathes new life into the young fans who love the show. I love it too!”
He continued, “Because of that, ‘Running Up That Hill’ is on charts all over the world and has reached #8 in the UK charts. It’s all very exciting! Thanks to everyone who supported the song. I’m looking forward to the rest of the series. in July.”
In the days after season four. Weird stuff Netflix’s “Running Up That Hill” saw an 8,700% increase in global streaming on Spotify on May 30, compared to its cousin on May 25, the day before. The song is currently at number one on Spotify’s Top 50 US Streaming Chart and number two on the company’s Top 50 Global Chart, behind Harry Styles’ “As It Was”. The song also reached number 2 on the Australian ARIA chart.
