It was Christopher McQuarrie who once again directed mission impossible 7, which he also co-wrote with Erik Jendresen. The director and screenwriter was already behind the last two installments of the saga. It was he who introduced Ilsa Faust In Rogue nation. But for the director of mission impossible 7, this death was necessary. During an interview with United States todayChristopher McQuarrie thus explained that the plot of the feature film was needed and that it was faithful to the universe of the saga:
It was a very difficult decision to make. But we knew we had to take it so that the film had real stakes and remained faithful to the saga. Mission Impossible is Ethan’s journey first and foremost, and he continues to have this tendency to lose the people closest to him. It was a really difficult conversation for us, and we knew that scene was going to provoke reactions, but we also knew that this is the reality of the universe that has been created across seven films.

Rebecca Ferguson will therefore not participate in the eighth film of the saga. On the other hand, we should find inside The showdown Part 2 all other important characters survived the first part. But you may have to wait longer than expected before we can discover the rest of the adventures of Ethan Hunt and his team.
