Reunion specials for classic TV shows have apparently been all the rage in recent years. In late 2020, television fans saw the cast of The Prince of Bel-Air gathered for a moving retrospective, like the protagonists of Friends would do the same in 2021. Now Martin Lawrence, Tisha Campbell and their former co-stars are back together to Martin: Reunion. The first trailer for the event sees the cast reflect on the time they spent working on the hit sitcom from the 1990s. Not only that, the group is also joined by special guest stars.
In addition to the aforementioned Martin Lawrence (Martin Payne) and Tisha Campbell (Gina Waters-Payne), BET + production She will play lead actors Tichina Arnold (Pam James) and Carl Anthony Payne II (Cole Brown). Sadly, one of the main stars who will not appear is Tommy Strawn actor Thomas Mikail Ford, who passed away in 2016. Although his co-stars will likely take some time to remember him during the special and, as shown in the trailer, they will leave. the long – expected – recoil for him.
The footage shows the actors joking about old times and discussing the enduring legacy of comedy. What’s even cooler is that other stars show up and join the party. Hip-hop icon Snoop Dogg is among those who sit down with the cast and discuss the impact of the show. Comedian Tommy Davidson and singer Brian McKnight, both of whom appeared on the Fox sitcom, were also revealed in the trailer. And I’m willing to bet that other familiar faces will show up too.
When the special was announced, Martin Lawrence and Tisha Campbell reacted enthusiastically. The same thing happened with fans on social media, who seemed excited for the stars to get together and chat about the best. Martino episodes and more. Lawrence, 57, and his colleagues probably have some tasty behind-the-scenes stories to share and can’t wait to pour some tea.
Additionally, the trailer also suggests that the cast will discuss the possibility of a reboot. Such a thing has been discussed over the years, with the cast providing their own thoughts here and there. Tisha Campbell provided an update in 2020, saying the stars were still interested but all had busy schedules. We will have to wait and see what they think of the idea now.
Nostalgia is definitely strong with that. Martin: Reunion trailer, and that’s not a bad thing. It will be fun to watch Martin Lawrence and his co-stars meet and talk about one of the great black comedies of the 90s.
Martin: Reunion will debut on BET + on June 16th. Be sure to check out Gossipify’s 2022 TV show for information on more upcoming small screen offerings.
