Rob Zombie’s reboot of The Munsters recreates the classic intro of the TV series in a hilarious new video

Restarts, sequels, continuations and legacy sequels are inherent in the horror genre, from the most recent Halloween evolutionary trilogy exorcist film to another by Dan Trachtenberg Prey. (Oh yeah, the prequels too.) But there is still something incredibly intriguing about hard rock director Rob Zombie taking on a new take on the classic ’60s series. monsters . And in a very repetitive fashion, the first full trailer released by Universal Pictures for monsters is a delightful recreation of the TV show’s memorable opening credits.

As seen above, Rob Zombie has created a loving version of monstersopening, where each family member leaves their iconic residence at 1313 Mockingbird Lane accompanied by their own supporting credit. There’s no reason for the credits here, as this obviously isn’t a TV show, but keep in mind that the trio of frequent Zombie contributors shown are Jeff Daniel Phillips as Herman Munster, Sheri Moon Zombie as Lily Munster, and Daniel Roebuck as his grandfather. And while there are some obvious differences from the original, they look pretty impressive.

I love how amazing the front of the house in the trailer is too, especially with everything so sharp in black and white, which makes it look like the 1960s series has benefited from a monumental remaster. The visuals also play into the “revelation” that the film is sure to be all about color, and we get a great shot of all three characters in all their saturated magnificence.

obviously this monsters video does not feature the longest recreation of the televised introduction, as it only features the three (sort of) eldest members of the human family, without highlighting the totally abnormal (for them) Marilyn and young bloodthirsty Eddie with his baseball bat large. That said, it has already been reported that OG stars Pat Priest and Butch Patrick will appear in the new film, though it’s unclear if their current roles will tie into those they’ve played on the show, so that’s still a big question. .

Furthermore, there is no trace of the family pet, Spot, a huge dragon-dinosaur beast that lives under the stairs. But I can’t imagine Rob Zombie doesn’t consider Fantastic Beasts in this movie, so I hope the reveal comes later.

monsters The cast will also include other horror veterans and icons such as Cassandra “Elvira” Peterson, Dee Wallace (cujo, The howl) and Richard Break (mandy), while other co-stars include LostThis is Jorge Garcia. Space: 1999 veterinary Catherine Schell, e Doctor who Caption Sylvester McCoy. Imagine that there will be more than a few fun cameos and other surprises that will remain under lock and key until release. Wouldn’t it be great if they met the Addams family at some point? (This probably won’t happen, given the upcoming Addams-style Netflix series. Wednesdaybut stay.)

For the moment, it is not known exactly when Rob Zombie monsters it will crash into our living rooms, but will be released this fall by Universal 1440 Entertainment, which develops and produces films to be released worldwide on all non-cinema platforms.
