On both Euphoria and The Idol, Sam Levinson went hard for unnecessary nude scenes.
One of the great highlights of euphoria, Sydney Sweeney defended the creator of the series, Sam Levinsonfor a large number of needlessly explicit sex scenes – something that was repeated in The Idolreleased in 2023.
On account of this, Levinson became a rather controversial figure in hollywoodbut Sweeney explained during an interview with Varietyas he always felt “free and confident” when he interprets Cassie in euphoria.
“You have me, you have zendaya, you have all these strong, independent women. If we didn’t feel comfortable with something, or we saw something we didn’t like, we would all speak up,” said the actress.
It’s hard to see someone completely destroyed by the public and the media when no one is really there. We’re there and clearly we’re still working on the show and we’re still supportive.
“The point is to make people uncomfortable and think outside the box. What’s the point of art? For me, I feel so free and confident now. And I found that through Cassie,” he continued. Sydney Sweeney in conversation with the site.
