The band and Hawkins family announced “Taylor Hawkins Tribute Concerts” on Wednesday (June 8) along with a message from Hawkins’ widow Alison Hawkins thanking the band’s many global fans for their support and love. Hawkins’ shocking death at age 50 on March 25 in a hotel room in Bogotá, Colombia, while traveling with Foos.

“I express my deepest gratitude and admiration to the global Foo Fighters community and Taylor’s fans for the love each of you have shown for our beloved Taylor,” the Hawkins family said in a statement. “Her kindness of hers has been an invaluable comfort to me and my family during this incredible pain.

“As Taylor’s wife and on behalf of our children, I want to share with you how much you mean to her and how loyal she was to ‘tear her socks off’ during every performance. Taylor was honored to be a part of the Foo Fighters and was grateful for her dream role every minute of being with them in the band for 25 years. We consider each member of the group and the extended Foo Fighters team as our family.
