Equalizer 3 : Robert McCall’s Troubled Retirement
After having lent his person in 2014 then in 2018 in Equalizer and his retinue, Robert McCall (Denzel Washington), finally hopes to have some happy days Equalizer 3. In this final chapter orchestrated again by Antoine Fuqua (Training day, The Magnificent 7), the former Secret Service agent believes he has found his haven of peace in southern Italy. But when the mobsters arrive to sow terror in the city where he has settled, the vigilante takes up arms.
For Denzel Washington, this new part of the saga with which finds again Dakota Fanning later man on fire probably score the end of the adventures of Robert McCall. In an interview given to Empirethe actor recently stated:
I don’t mean she has found happiness, and I don’t want to give everything away, but she meets a lovely person, in a lovely city and seems to be at peace. It seems like the perfect time to stop. Almost ten years after the release of the first film, a chapter closes. I didn’t know there would be three. I didn’t really know when we shot the first one, I didn’t know how it was going to end.

However, Antoine Fuqua obviously isn’t I’m not ready to say goodbye yet with Robert McCall. Inspired by the processes used Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, the director is not against the idea of exploring the past of the character, digitally rejuvenating his interpreter Denzel Washington. I’ve really thought about it a lot. Especially now that there’s new technologies and artificial intelligence and all that kind of stuff… Is there a story to tell about how (McCall) came to be that person? I had this conversation with Richard Wenk (co-writer of the films Equalizernote) quite often.

I saw the movie with Harrison Ford and I know there will be more movies to come. I believe Sony will be releasing one soon with Tom Hanks (Here by Robert Zemeckis, ed.). And I hear the technology is getting better and better. So I’m monitoring all of this to see how it evolves.
It now remains to be seen if her favorite actor will be ready for a new mission. Equalizer 3 it is to be discovered in cinemas from 30 August 2023.
