girls5eva Season 2 put the brothers owned stars in a very strange narrative spotlight as the titular female group struck a deal with the Scott brothers’ fictional record label Property Records, natch, and was tasked with releasing an album together in six weeks to promote a new line of scented hammers to serve as merchandise on the tour. Sadly, they didn’t tour after all because Girls5Eva is too easy on the eyes, prompting Paula Pell’s Gloria to take on Drew and Jonathan Scott, leading to the epic comedy fight sequence. And in a newly renovated house, no less.
Paula Pell shared her appreciation for the performance Twitter , and she certainly wasn’t the only one, although she obviously experienced it like no one else. Here’s what Pell had to say:

While those who commented on Paula Pell’s post were mostly asking for Season 3 updates, others girls5eva fans were more focused on their reactions. in one peek Journalist Emily Nussbaum expressed a sense that the moment was something our TVs had always missed, even if it was the only destination that made sense.
Ugh, the Girls5Eva Season 2 finale was awesome … 30 Density at the level of intense rock, more heart, cool characters and songs. Also, the Property Bros boss battle had no idea what I was looking forward to.
I feel like Drew and Jonathan Scott would be perfect in a brothers owned-Series in a parody style where all the intimate tropes are subverted for comic splendor. Even the post-fight moment when the brothers reverted to TV host mode killed me just as much as any other moment the super talented cast of the show . But let’s go back to praising the fight with the peek down.
I start my morning with a great cup of coffee and watch @perlapell beating up a Property Brother in a scene where directing was just supposed to be “hitting each other”. What a way to start the weekend. # girls5eva
While Drew Scott’s fight reel was overall pretty impressive, and even though he held his own against Gloria for a while, none quite as good as his titanium leg, some fans haven’t slowed down to dive into the stars of HGTV in a good mood. .

All in all, it’s safe to say that Drew and Jonathan Scott’s latest cameos have been the highlights for so far girls5evawhich hopefully will have many more seasons to come as you probably could see the ever brilliant Andrew Rannels mispronounces things until the end of time. But for now, let’s see how the brothers owned the stars gathered in the aired sitcom.
How Property Brothers cameo and fight scene came about
As Meredith Scardino said United States today (opens in a new tab)the narrative thrust in creating the arc of the season was to make fun of the celebrity brand and influence, Drew and Jonathan Scott’s country music ties made it ideal for girls5eva. And it turns out that they decided to do it based on one of the best songs by Sarah Bareilles from the first season. In Scardino’s words:
The dream has always been to make them appear and I was really happy when they said they would. Jonathan told me that part of the reason they said “yes” is that someone played “Dawn’s Song of Fears” from the first season. He heard it separately from the show, but then they saw it and were on board.
obviously the brothers ownedThe cameo may have involved any number of weird situations and sequences, and some fans may be surprised to learn that Drew Scott’s combat choreography skills weren’t invented for the show. Rather, the video of Scott and stuntman Daniel Locicero that the characters see in the finale was something that already existed. When the writers asked the brothers to present examples of their tastes and interests to further inspire the cameo result, Drew Scott sent this clip to a folder titled “Stage Combat”. (Which is just a surreal detail in itself.) That’s how Meredith Scardino said she reacted when she saw the video.
We were like, ‘What? This is the most unexpected treasure I have ever seen in my life. I learned on set that Jonathan and Drew were martial arts experts from an early age, so this interests you. We literally allowed her video (to be included in the episode). Drew told me they shot it in a few hours in a garden one morning, and it fit the story of “Hey, your passions aren’t necessarily what you earn”.
I guess if you want to bring your martial arts skills to the world, it helps to have a successful cable show that has a lot of spin-offs. Let’s hope Drew and Jonathan Scott continue to build their acting careers when they’re not breaking down weak walls.
