Bruno Dumont’s new film promises to be crazy
Director Bruno Dumont has a new madness to present to the public. And the revealed trailer is simply incredible (video at the top of the article). After Jane AND Francehis new feature film is called The empire. And it promises to be a unique cross between the space opera way Star Wars and its series Little Quinquin.
In a small coastal town in northern France, extraterrestrials arrive with the intention of dominating the Earth. And this is what we will see in the image. With spaceships, lightsabers and surprising interactions between space visitors and local inhabitants. Just that.
A new casting for The empire
To tell this new story, Bruno Dumont has, as usual, assembled a mixed cast professional and amateur actors. From a professional point of view, however, there has been a change, as Virginie Efira, Adèle Haenel, Lily-Rose Depp and Fabrice Luchini were originally announced. Only Fabrice Luchini retained his place, as the actresses ultimately selected were Anamaria Vartolomei, Camille Cottin and Lyna Khoudri.
To accompany them and animate them The empirewe find in particular the “stars” of Little Quinquin Bernard Pruvost and Philippe Jore, as well as the young Julien Manier, seen in Jane.
