Chris Evans played Captain America between 2011 and 2019 in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU)
One of the greatest characters in his career Chris Evans, captain America left the actor quite insecure at the beginning of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) – and thought he would be “deeply unhappy” with the hero’s mantle.
During an interview with GQthe actor recalled how he felt initial apprehension when he began considering the role of MCU. “The advantage was that I could take care of my family forever,” she said. The cons were that I would be deeply, deeply unhappy with the fame and the loss of control.”
I love playing this role. I feel connected to it in a way that when you revisit a character so many times you can’t help but try to absorb some of their characteristics and compare yourself to them.
Evans officially retired from captain America in Avengers: Endgame, a film that shows the end of the cycle for the character. The actor described the Marvel experience as “an honor” and explained his decision to step away from the role: “You want to get off the train before they push you.”
