Jensen Ackles of the boys revealed his biggest problem with the soldier costume after seeing it for the first time

Jensen Ackles no longer chases demons like Dean Winchester Supernaturaland tapped into the dark side as the shady superhero Soldier Boy in Prime Video. The boys. Playing any type of superhero usually involves wearing all sorts of unique costumes and The boys he certainly delivered on that front. But when Ackles first saw the costume he would be wearing in Season 3, he had an unexpected problem that would soon change his daily routine.

Jensen Ackles appeared on Late night with Seth Meyers discuss everything The boys, Supernaturaland the next spin-off of the latter the Winchestersand even dug their early days days of our lives. When the subject of the equipment Ackles had to wear to become a Soldier Boy came up, the Smallville The student revealed that while he couldn’t say his costume was okay in terms of comfort, there was only one thing he hoped to see (and hear) that simply wasn’t there:

I have the cute one I could still move. There were no bodysuits, no rubber boats, no overalls to take off at the end of the day. That said, as we wear it, these things are a work of art and take some time to put on. Together: Supersuit costume designer LJ was starting to put things together. I was like, ‘Are you going to give me muscle?’ As I see these suits, they are clearly defined with extra muscle. He just tapped me lightly on the shoulder and said, “You’re going to give me muscle in April.”

Ackles went on to mention that the muscle-related conversation took place about six months before he wore the Soldier costume. that it may seem like it took a long time to build those muscles, but becoming a superhero is no small feat. From the look given to us by the Season 3 trailer and The boysHowever, the currently released episodes certainly put the effort into it. And thankfully, it seems the bloating issue was the only detail Jensen Ackles had with the suit, which probably went away a while after building his own muscle mass.

Even with only four episodes and little screen time, Jensen Ackles has already proven himself to be Soldier Boy, even if the character himself doesn’t have a good reputation. The boys showrunner Eric Kripke, who also created Supernatural and served as showrunner for the first five seasons, praising Ackles for his portrayal of the super while speaking to Gossipify, noting that he was the perfect actor to portray the super original.

Jensen Ackles was first announced to join the cast of The boys for season 3 in August 2020, one month earlier SupernaturalThe series finale delayed by COVID. So he had about two months to idealize himself in the role before he knew he would have to get busy both physically and mentally. And it wasn’t child’s play for him either, as he said earlier difficulty keeping in shape constantly .

Last August, Eric Kripke talked about how Ackles landed the role of Soldier Boy, and it really was just a fluke and a simple phone call that changed everything. It was interesting to see how different this role is from Dean Winchester, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t any minor references to the long-running CW series. And seeing what Soldier Boy really looks like was pretty fun, and in Season 3 it’ll be even better.

Make sure you see Jensen Ackles – and his muscles – as Soldier Boy in season three of The boys with an Amazon Prime subscription! New episodes are released every Thursday night or Friday morning. Check out Gossipify’s 2022 TV show to see what’s to come.
