Night swimming: not recommended for thalassophobes
Thalassophobia refers to the irrational fear of the depths, marine or otherwise. It is not clear whether this definition also applies to swimming pools, but to the film Night swimthere is a possibility that it will become so.
Produced by horror master James Wan, who has once again collaborated with Blumhouse, this film stars Wyatt Russell as Ray, a former American football player, who had to abandon his career due to a degenerative disease.
We follow him as he moves, with his family, into a brand new house equipped with a splendid swimming pool, which delights its two children. But the dream will turn into a nightmare: while he was planning to use the swimming pool for his rehabilitation with the aim of resuming his football career, a malevolent force, hidden at the bottom of the water, will wake up and overwhelm the family. into an absolute nightmare.
A nightmare first trailer
The film Night swim is expected in our theaters on January 3rd. And less than three months after release, Universal Pictures has revealed a very first trailer (to discover at the top of the article) which suggests an effective feature film that plays on the uncontrolled fear of water, in the dead of night. Contrary to what you might think, the mischievous creature hiding in the pool is not a sea creature. It seems that its form is more human and that it emits sounds that are close to speech.
Directed by Bryce McGuire, it is the film adaptation of his short film of the same name, lasting just two minutes, released in 2014, which was already very disturbing. You can find out below:
