After the Warner Pass, the HBO Max platform finally arrives!
At the end of May 2020, Warner Bros. Discovery (formerly WarnerMedia) launched its streaming platform HBO Max. The name referred to the HBO channels owned by Warner and to which we owe flagship series such as game of Thrones. Also knowing the quality of movie catalog the real emotion was born from the study. But for France the disappointment was great since the platform was never launched there (unlike Disney+, which has been present here since the end of 2019).
Prime Video announces the price and launch date of the Warner Pass
In the end we had to wait until March 16, 2023 to have an equivalent Warner Pass available with Prime Video. Subscribers thus have access to all HBO programs and the 12 Warner channels (such as Eurosport or Warner TV). But it is therefore not a platform independent of another group, like Netflix or Dinsey+. This however will change as, good news, HBO Max will finally arrive in France!
When will HBO Max be available in France?
Finally, after a long wait, the HBO Max streaming service will finally arrive in France. This is already going changes name to “Max” and thus bring together HBO Max and Discovery+. Variety announced that the platform will launch with us during the summer of 2024. Warner will thus be able to truly position itself on the French market and be independent from the Amazon service. According to the American media, the agreement reached with Warner Pass should not be interrupted at the time of launch subscribers could maintain this serviceat least until end of 2024.
The interest of a real presence of Maximum in France is that, as in the case of Disney+ or Netflix, the platform will have to develop French productions. Warner has already ordered an original series with The Mythomaniac of the Bataclanadapted from Alexandre Kauffmann’s book about a fake survivor of the attacks of November 13, 2015.
