Misunderstandings, breakups and returns. The vicious circle of comings and goings of certain relationships is the theme of the expected “Mil Veces”, Anitta’s new song.
“We’ve been through this a thousand times.”Anitta sings (in Spanish) about a problematic relationship, full of passion and difficult to end.
“This song is a delight! I love the pop side of the lyrics, about a relationship that wasn’t supposed to last, but which drags on, full of ups and downs. It’s crazy… It’s a dynamic that many people may have already experienced. I think ‘Mil Veces’ can make people identify with her,” Anitta said.
“Mil Veces” features melodic funk, a subgenre of Rio de Janeiro funk characterized by more romantic lyrical content and softer melodic musical production. It is no coincidence that this sound aesthetic is very characteristic of Anitta’s early works, in songs like “Meiga e Abusada” and “Eu Vou Ficar”.
To really realize this very Brazilian identity, Anitta wanted to bring producers from her native country on the album “Funk Generation”, which includes “Mil Veces”. This is the case of DJ Gabriel do Borel, who worked on both the composition and production of the new song.
The music video for the song has the special participation of Damiano Davidlead singer of the chart-topping rock band Måneskin, as Anitta’s romantic partner.
