Pain. Lots of pain. This is what caused the death of Ricardo Iorioformer frontman of bands such as V8, Hermética and Almafuerte, and one of the precursors of heavy metal in Argentina.
Among his fans, of course. And also among his colleagues, who did not hesitate to use social networks to say goodbye to the artist who died at the age of 61 following a heart attack during his transfer to a hospital.
Andrés Calamaro, for example, was one of the first to take to Instagram and leave a meaningful message. “How sad it is to say goodbye to Ricardo, the essential rock artist of the last thirty years, Ricardo and his heart of León… Heir and lord of heavy and electric folklore, poet of the south, distilled from Larralde and Facundo Cabral, studious reader, meticulous and gentle Argentinian”.
And he wasn’t the only one. Leo García admitted to being shocked after hearing the news. And the Kapangas also said: “We regret with deep sadness the passing of our friend and colleague Ricardo Iorio. We embrace his family and we will always remember him with the best anecdotes and, of course, his music.”
One of the most sensitive, however, was Juanchi Baleirón, guitarist and singer of Los Pericos, who was one of the last to speak with Iorio.
“I can’t believe it… We were talking, I was full of projects, tours… In November, I was going to record the new album, I can’t make it,” he said wrote on his Twitter account.
And he is not alone: no one can believe it.
