Series about the British royal family returns to Netflix with new episodes starting in November

The sixth and final season of The Crowna series about the life of the British royal family, will cover the period from 1997 to 2005 of the queen’s reign Elizabeth II (Imelda Staunton, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix), but that doesn’t mean that the matriarch’s death won’t be addressed in the final episodes of the Netflix production.

Second Peter Morgancreator of The Crownthe initial idea was to end the story with the death of Elizabeth IIbut this idea was changed to maintain a “worthy” ending for the series: “We’ve all had the funeral experience. [da rainha]. So, because of how deeply everyone felt this, I had to try to find a way for the final episode to deal with the character’s death, even though she was still alive. The last season of The Crown will be divided into two parts: in the first of them, consisting of four chapters, the highlight will be the death of the princess Dianalived by Elizabeth Debicki (Guardians of the Galaxy: Volume 3), going through the problems with the royal family, the relationship with Dodi Fayedthe paparazzi chase, the car accident, and, finally, the repercussion of the tragedy on the reign of Elizabeth II. The first part of The Crown premiere on November 16, 2023. A month later, in December 14, 2023Netflix launches the second part of the last season, in which we will follow the prince William (Ed McVey) returning to normal life at Eton after the death of his mother, while the monarchy must deal with popular opinion about Diana’s tragedy.

The six episodes will also show the Queen Elizabeth II dealing with the proximity of his Golden Jubilee – the 50th anniversary of his coronation -, the future of the English monarchy with the marriage between Prince Charles (Dominic West) It is Camilla Parker (Olivia Williams), and the birth of romance between prince Harry (Luther Ford) It is Kate Middleton (Meg Bellamy).
