The Hollywood strike ends
118 days. This is how long it will last the strike of actors and actresses in Hollywood. Before that it was the screenwriters’ one, which ended after 146 days. But after long negotiations between the studios and the various unions (WGA for the screenwriters, SAG-AFTRA for the actors), the agreements were finally reached.
Recall that the SAG-AFTRA union specifically asked an increase in salaries and royalties received on programs from streaming platforms. The issue of artificial intelligence was also an important point of the negotiations. Expiration specifies that for the moment 17 members of the actors’ union have voted in principle in favor of the agreement. Details of those agreements are expected to be presented to the council on Friday. But the union has already said it is satisfied with the new contract signed for the next three years.

A $1 billion contract!
SAG-AFTRA revealed the general lines of the agreements concluded with the AMPTP (Alliance of Film and Television Producers). Therefore, this new agreement would allow for an overall revaluation estimated at 1 billion dollars. This notably includes an increase minimum wages and extra wages. Important provisions on remuneration and consent to ensure protection for actors and actresses against the threat of AI. Or even a participation bonus for streaming broadcasts. The limits for pension and health plans have also been reevaluated. Finally, contractual provisions will help protect different communities.
From November 9th at 00:01 the strike is officially suspended and interrupted filming can then resume. Among the filming that should resume in the next few days there would be (again according to Deadline), Deadpool 3, Poison 3, Beetle juice2 OR Gladiator 2much of which has already been assembled.
