With “Autopoietic” we get a new way of reading and listening My Laferté. It is an album composed of fourteen songs which the artist herself defined as one much more thoughtful than his previous works and in which he experimented with new tools.
“When I was making this album, the word autopoiesis took hold in me and I wanted to bring it to this work in a metaphorical way,” he said. Laferte. “I like to believe in the idea of constant rebirth and convince myself that, despite the adversities of life, I have the ability to continue to reinvent myself, it is the great gift that we all have.”
In “Autopoietic” we can find, among other propositions, a lowered cumbia in “I swear I’ll come back.”; trip-hop, mariachi and bolero in “Tenochtitlan”; references to electronic tango movement in the interlude “Article 123”; raw techno in “Autopoietic”; a sauce with all the law in it “Suicidal Lovers” and a striking reinterpretation of “Caste Diva”a piece of opera Standard by Vincenzo Bellini.
“Before, I certainly wouldn’t have made an album like this”said My Laferté. “I feel that I am in a moment of greater security in myself, in my music. I have a clarity that maybe I didn’t have before. I also become less prejudiced. The devil knows more about getting old than he does about being a devil, they say, I guess there’s something to that.
