One of the best anime is returning to Netflix
An ambitious and brutal series
The series follows the daily lives of the police officers responsible for the investigations, but also the daily lives of the criminals being chased. On both sides the methods are sophisticated and the criminals do not hold back no brutality to achieve their goals. Its creator Heitor Dhalia presented his approach as follows:
“The Criminal Code” reveals another aspect of crime in Brazil, in particular the criminal activities committed at the borders that have so far been little shown on screen. At the beginning of the series, we start with a robbery carried out on the other side of the border, in Paraguay, which serves as a point of reference and inspiration. We then witness a stalemate between two opposing forces, both very sophisticated, with incursions into other sectors of organized crime, all of which took place in a South American landscape.
The series’ spectacular heist and shootout sequences are balanced with just the right amount of romance and personal issues so that its audience is as wide as possible. The main cast includes Maeve Jinkings, Thomás Aquino and Rômulo Braga. The penal code is made up of 8 episodes of approximately 1 hour each.
