Morris He is one of the pioneers of rock, a living glory. And in his 81st birthday (it was November 19) they decided to pay homage to him releasing an animated video for his classic hit “El Oso.”
In addition to songs like “Yesterday Only”, “Nothing Serves”, “Pato Works in a Butcher’s Shop”, “The Beggar of the South Dock” and of course “El Oso”, Moris (artistic name derived from his real name Mauricio Birabent) not only made a historic cultural impact on the local scene, but also repeated the feat in Spain in the late 70s.
At first, Moris formed the group Los Beatniks (late 1965, in Villa Gesell), with other future legends like Pajarito Zaguri and Javier Martínez. The following year, they released a single seminal album thanks to the song “Rebelde”. The band didn’t last long and didn’t have any success, but it established a starting point for rock in Argentina.
After this experience, Moris has always been a soloist. His song “Ayer Nomás” (with different lyrics) included the B side of the single with “La Balsa”, by Los Gatos, the first major national rock hit.and in 1970, he finally released his first album: “Thirty Minutes of Life”.
