Robert Plant, legendary singer of Led Zeppelin, admitted to liking the mythology of Game of Thrones, but declined to participate
Robert Plant almost participated in game of Thrones. The legendary vocalist of Led Zeppelin declined an invitation to star in the series HBOas reported in an interview with Apple Music 1 (via billboard).
Among the reasons for refusing work, plant cited that he “didn’t want to be marked by a character,” in jest. This is common for actors in long-running and successful pop culture franchises.
“I started this shit on ‘Immigrant Song,’ Led Zeppelin it was part of the cultural exchange with the Icelandic government. So they didn’t know who they were inviting to their little island,” she said.
The musician also showed interest in the culture and mythology shown in game of Thronesalthough he has not watched the series, and recalled how he composed the hit Led Zeppelin: “On the way back to the plane, I started to think. I love Western European culture, the Bronze Age and the old religions… when we were really in touch with the Earth.”
About the paper offered, plant did not specify the character’s name, but described: “I would ride a horse and… [levanta a cabeça, com o nariz empinado].”
