Matthew Perry helped Kelly Osbourne overcome her fear at her first AA meeting
The family Osbourne — Kelly, Jack, Sharon It is Ozzy — covered several topics on mental health until talking about Matthew Perryduring an episode released this Tuesday, 21, of The Osbournes Podcast.
Kelly stated that he had a story about the actor from Friends:
I wanted to share a story about him on my Instagram, but I didn’t, because I feel like when someone dies, everyone wants to say, ‘I knew that person.’ But one time, when I was in a really bad place, when I was about 19 — and it was my first time getting treatment — I went to my first AA meeting on Sunday morning, and I was scared shitless because I was there. There were so many people, I hated it, I didn’t think I belonged there, I felt useless. I just wanted to go home, because I knew where I was and I knew how to get out of there. And he came up to me — I think I was visibly hurting — and handed me a ’60-second object’. ‘Just hold it. If you can get through that, you can survive the next 60 seconds,’ he said. I was like, ‘Okay. And I saved it, it’s somewhere. I remember him being so kind.’
“I didn’t know he had turned his Malibu house into a treatment center,” he said. Sharon. “He used to meet us at home all the time,” he recalled. Jackwhich also found that most of those who attended AA meetings are dead.
