The Planet of the Apes saga returns to the cinema

The new film in the Planet of the Apes saga will be released in theaters on May 22, 2024. Wes Ball gives a big clue about the timeline

Recently interviewed by Empire magazine, the director of this new film, Wes Ball, wanted to clarify the era in which this new film is set. He clarified that Planet of the Apes: The New Kingdom had taken a “big leap in time”, and was now set in the “Bronze Age” of the Age of the Apes, whereas the previous three films were set in the of the stone”. . He also clarified that if Caesar’s spirit had still been in the film, “most of his descendants” would not be present.

If this film gives rise to a new trilogy, it could be that the last of these films coincides with the beginning of the first film of the saga, released in 1968, in which we discovered that the planet on which the action took place was actually of planet Earth.
