A fourth adventure for Beverly Hills cop
Published in 1984, Beverly Hills cop became one of the reference films in the action comedy genre. Martin Brest’s feature film introduced us to the character ofAxel Foley, a young policeman with a casual personality and unconventional methods who travels to Beverly Hills to investigate the death of one of his friends.
Building on its success, Beverly Hills cop was given the right to a sequel, released in 1987. Then, a third film followed in 1994. And, nearly thirty years later, a fourth work is in preparation. Eddie Murphy will reprise the cult role he played in the first three films of the saga. And he won’t be the only face familiar to fans of the franchise. Also returning are Judge Reinhold, aka Billy Rosewood, Paul Reiser, who plays Jeffrey, and John Ashton, who plays John Taggart.

In addition to the actors already present in the first films, legendary producer Jerry Bruckheimer also returns Beverly Hills Cop 4. You recently gave an interview to Empireparticularly promising another great performance from Eddie Murphy. The magazine also took the opportunity to reveal the first photo from the film. We discover Axel Foley’s character emerging from an overturned vehicle, after evidently causing a scene of chaos again.
Foley therefore appears to be true to himself in the first image of the Beverly Hills Cop 4. On the directorial side, after Martin Brest, Tony Scott and John Landis, it was Mark Molloy who was chosen to put this new work in the box. In addition to the actors reprising their roles, we will also discover new faces within the franchise. Including those of Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Taylour Paige and Kevin Bacon.
Beverly Hills Cop 4 will go out on Netflix. The film doesn’t have a specific release date yet, but is scheduled for 2024 on the platform.
