The boys goes to Mexico
Prime Video made no mistakes in embarking on an adaptation of The boys, the comic by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson. Launched in 2019, the series created by Eric Kripke quickly became a hit. The public has grown fond of the idea of seeing superheroes presented as stars of the world of entertainment and far from being truly heroic. As a result, a season 2 was ordered, then a third. Season 4 is currently in preparation. And to this are added several spin-offs.
First of all, the animated series The Boys present: Les Diaboliques (2022) and recently Gen V, renewed for a season 2. Prime Video then realized that there was material to further expand this universe. The proof with the announcement ofa new spin-off which would be in preparation.

In fact, we learn from Expiration that the streaming platform is currently developing the series The boys: Mexico. The title is enough to make it clear that this time the story will move to Mexico.
Everything we know about this new spin-off
No plot information has been revealed. On the other hand, we already know who will be in charge of the project. American media claims that Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer is the screenwriter of the superhero film Blue Beetle, he’s been hired. Plus the actors Diego Luna and Gaël Garcia Bernal they are expected to be present as executive producers and could play important roles in the series.
Currently, the production is reportedly looking for a co-showrunner to accompany Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer. The latter also worked on the screenplay ofEl Muertoanother superhero movie this time for Sony Pictures, and that won’t be released until 2025. As for casting, other than the possibility of seeing Diego Luna and Gael García Bernal in front of the camera (which isn’t certain yet), no names have been mentioned yet.
We also don’t know when The boys: Mexico will be available. But there will already be enough to do in 2024 with season 4 of The boysand the second season of Gen V.
