“Rizz” beat “swiftie” and was named word of the year by the Oxford dictionary; know the meaning
OUP (Oxford University Press) chose, with the help of the public, this Monday, 4th, “rizz” as the word of the year: “referring to someone’s ability to attract another person through style, charm or attractiveness, this term comes from the middle part of the word ‘charisma’ [caRIZZma]which is an unusual pattern of word formation.”
The peak in the use of the word occurred in June, when Tom Holland stated: “I don’t have any rizz. I have limited rizz”, in an interview with BuzzFeed (via NME). It was Kai CenatYouTuber and streamer, however, who popularized the term, still in 2022.
