The upcoming Netflix series based on a novel by Harlan Coben will delight fans

A new adaptation of Harlan Coben from Netflix

Harlan Coben fans will still be able to discover an adaptation of one of his novels. This time it is Double trap, published in 2016, which gives its title to his series. Its plot follows Maya, a former soldier, astries to recover from the brutal murder of her husband, Joe. But one day, after installing a camera to keep an eye on her daughter, she sees her husband again. She will then try to find out whether what she saw is real or not.

This is Michelle Keegan who was cast as Maya Double trap. As for the role of Joe, he was entrusted to Richard Armitage. The latter was already one of the protagonists of two other Netflix adaptations of Harlan Coben’s novels: Intimidation released in 2020, and Do not leaverevealed a year later.

A paced trailer for Death trap

Netflix just released the trailer for Double trap. We see Maya trying to understand why she saw Joe when she thought he was dead. The latter’s mother then assures him that he was wrong. But she Maya doesn’t intend to stop there. The images revealed show us that, by carrying out their investigation, she begins to discover secrets about her husband’s death.

You will have to wait several weeks before you can find out Double trap. Consisting of eight episodes, the series will arrive 1um January 2024 on Netflix.

Other books by the author will have the right to their adaptation

This isn’t the first time Netflix has adapted a Harlan Coben novel. Recall that the writer signed a contract with the streaming platform in 2018. This lasted five years. But, as reported What’s on Netflixwas renewed in 2022. Although seven of his works have already been adapted, the platform obtained the rights to fourteen of the author’s novels.

Coben recently said this two more series adaptations of his books should soon see the light of day. Which would bring the number of adaptations of his works by Netflix to nine. On the other hand, no series with Myron Bolitar should be released, since novels with this character are excluded from the agreement between the writer and the streaming platform.
