About Bryan Adams

Canadian from Kingston, Bryan Adams was born on November 5, 1959, started playing guitar at age 10 and released his first album at 20. He initially broke through with the record Cuts Like a Knife (1983), third in his catalogue, responsible for presenting the title track and “Straight from the Heart”. But the broad success came with the following work, Reckless (1984), the first by a Canadian artist to receive diamond certification (above gold and platinum) in his native country for bringing hits such as “Run to You”, “Summer of ’69” and “Heaven”.

The sequence of success extended into the 1990s, with “(Everything I Do) I Do It for You”, a 1991 song that reached number one in at least 19 countries and remained in the position for 16 weeks in the United Kingdom. It comes from the album Waking Up the Neighbors (1991), another one to receive diamond certification in Canada.

In addition to a long discography that spanned rock and pop, Adams composed and collaborated on songs for film soundtracks. Some of his achievements in this field include Oscar and Golden Globe nominations for works such as “I Finally Found Someone” (with Barbra Streisand) and winning a Grammy for Best Music Composed for Visual Media in 1992.

In addition to music, Bryan is a professional photographer and has published photographic works and held exhibitions. He became vegan in 1989, and in 2023 he was announced as co-founder of the music startup SongBox. Your most recent album is Roll with the Punches (2025), the first through his own label, Bad Records.
