Ocean’s 14: George Clooney releases the first news. Brad Pitt back?

Ocean’s Eleven: a cult saga

The “Ocean’s” saga, which began in 2001 with the film Ocean’s Eleven directed by Steven Soderbergh (remake of The unknown of Las Vegas released in 1961), quickly became a reference in the heist film genre. With three films under his belt – Eleven, Twelve in 2004 and Thirteen in 2007, the series captivated audiences with its sophisticated plots, humor and star-studded cast including George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon and Julia Roberts. These films tell the adventures of Danny Ocean and his band of charismatic and ingenious thieveswho carry out spectacular and highly strategic heists.

A female-led spinoff led by Cate Blanchett and Sandra Bullock was released in 2018, but did not include members of the original trilogy in the cast.

Ocean’s 14 soon on our screens?

Recently, George Clooney made statements (via Variety) on a possible Ocean 14. Clooney, who played the role of Danny Ocean, a stylish and cunning thief, recently revealed that there is a script for another film in the saga Of the ocean it was written:

We have a really good script for another ‘Ocean’s’ (…) so we might end up making another one. It’s actually a great plot.

said George Clooney, pointing out that, if it was made, the film was on the heels of An old-fashioned robbery. The reference to this 1979 film (and its 2017 remake) about three elderly men who stage a bank robbery suggests that Ocean 14 could explore themes of aging, camaraderie and challenges in the face of life’s changes. This could mark an interesting turning point for the series, with thieves in their sixties.

The announcement comes as a prequel to Ocean’s Eleven a film set in the 1960s starring Ryan Gosling and Margot Robbie is also in the works. While the plot remains under wraps for now, there are rumors that Robbie and Gosling could play Danny Ocean’s parents.
