After launching a reality show inspired by Round 6, Netflix announced that it is developing a game based on the hit Korean series. According to information released by the streaming platform last week, the news will place fans of the production within the universe of the series to compete with other players from around the world.
In Round 6 – which debuted in 2021 and quickly became a success, guaranteeing an unprecedented second season -, 456 people in an emergency situation, in urgent need of money, are invited to participate in a mysterious game.
Those who respond to the invitation are locked in a secret location, where they play children’s games to earn 45.6 billion won (the series’ currency). However, the consequence of losing is no child’s play and results in the death of the participants.
In addition to Round 6Netflix also announced that it is working on a game based on Rebel Moonnew film by Zack Snyder. The novelty should debut after the release of the two parts of the film, The Fire Girlon December 21st, and The Scar Markeron April 19, 2024.
The film tells the story of an intergalactic colony threatened by a tyrannical ruler and a young woman’s journey in search of warriors to help them defeat the villain. The game’s proposal is to allow players to become the protagonist and, together with three other friends, work cooperatively to fight for their colony.
