Elton John has partnered with augmented reality platform Jada and company NFT Sweet to auction off the exclusive Rocket Man Jadu Hoverboard NFT to raise money for his Elton John AIDS Foundation.
A step that, according to the press release, “establishes [John’s] Login to web3, a new internet hub that has cryptocurrencies and NFTs integrated into the platform, also includes the release of a series of access tokens that allow owners to unlock the experience for future fans within the Rocket NFT Club. nft.eltonjohn.com), including exclusive deliveries and pre-order opportunities.
The hoverboard auction begins Monday at 7am PST and ends Wednesday at 3pm, with all sales benefiting the Elton John AIDS Foundation as part of its mission to end the AIDS epidemic.
Developed by Jadu, an “augmented reality platform that puts web3 avatars at the center of a real-world game”, the Rocket Man Hoverboard is considered one of the 6666 rarest items in the Jadu Hoverboard collection.
It was designed by Vauxhall Bunny, who built magical jetpacks and hoverboards with a design reference to a keyboard pinball machine, named after John’s 1975 video for Pinball Wizard. Also features John’s Star glasses, piano keys and real musical notes. From “Rocket Man”

Magic creates virtual items like hoverboards and jetpacks that can be owned by NFTs and playable 3D avatars used in the game. Previous Magic Hoverboard collaborations include seven-time Formula One world champion Lewis Hamilton, musician GRIMES and rapper Snoop Dogg. Jadu is also developing an AR mobile app coming out of beta in summer 2022 that connects players with Ethereum wallets, allowing them to turn their 3D animated NFT replay into avatars.
