Echoa new series from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, premieres on Disney’s digital platforms, Disney+ and Star+, starting this Tuesday (9) and, in addition to bringing Maya Lopez back, now as the protagonist, also debuts a new franchise seal, the Marvel Spotlight.

In an interview with Rolling Stone Brazil and to CinemaBuzzthe producer of the series, Brad Winderbaumexplained that the new segment presents the possibility of introducing new characters independently, without viewers feeling the need to watch other productions in the franchise to understand the story, in addition to avoiding frustration with veteran fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe:

“If you look at the comics, you’ll find a lot of different labels like ‘Marvel Knights’, ‘Marvel Spotlight’ and many others, and the reason for that was to introduce new characters to the public that, at least for a period of time, could stand alone in their individual stories and independent of the rest of the continuity”he explained.

“It was important to us that a story like that of Echoor the future series of Magnumintroduce these characters for the first time without raising expectations that the Iron Man arrive using your armor or that the captain America will appear”continued Winderbaum.

Even with the new seal proposal, the producer assured that the change does not represent an end for the character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe: “This does not mean that the Maya Lopez doesn’t live in a world with other heroes, because she definitely does”he declared.

“We saw her in Archer hawk and it may appear somewhere else, but a casual Marvel fan or someone who doesn’t know every little detail of the continuity [do Universo Cinematográfico da Marvel] You can watch Eco, as it is a series that is enough on its own”concluded Winderbaum.
