Jurassic World: the dinosaurs return (again)
They may have disappeared from our Earth 66 million years ago, but dinosaurs still have a bright future ahead of them on our screens. While the saga Jurassic world had apparently ended with the much-maligned third work, The world after (released July 2022), we learn, via ExpirationThata new film in the Jurassic saga is currently in development at Universal.
The studio had already declared, after the release of Jurassic World 3, which left you the choice to explore all options for the rest of the adventure. We must not forget that this is one of the most profitable film sagas of all time (even if the last part disappointed at the box office). It is therefore logical that Universal wants to benefit from it for a long time (even if fans start to get tired of it).
David Koepp returns to the screenplay
If many viewers were disappointed by the conclusion of the Jurassic World 3this information will probably reassure them: it is David Koepp, the screenwriter of Jurassic Park (and its sequel) who is in charge of developing this new film. According to initial information, this new entry in the saga will be a total reboot, without the characters from the two previous trilogies. Also produced by Steven Spielberg, should face a plot still not exploited in the saga.
There are therefore no bets on the story this new film could tell. We remember this at the end Jurassic World 3, dinosaurs continued to coexist with humans and other animal species. If the film were set several years after these events, it could evoke them how dinosaurs disrupted the planet’s ecosystem (which many of us expected Jurassic World 3 and had not).
Currently, no director is yet associated with this project.
