An effective Netflix series

Without being the most original series, Ancestral stay an effective proposal which finds the right balance between twists and revelations about the protagonists’ past. Obviously there is not only Seo-ha at the center of the series, but also… Inspector Choi Seong-joon, linked to his superior Park Sang-min by a tragedy that dates back several years. Furthermore, the atmosphere proposed by director Min Hong-nam has its effect. A dark atmosphere, without falling into the clichés of the genre, with tense scenes that at times border on horror. Especially when Seo-ha’s half-brother is involved, or when it comes to shamanism (the end of episode 2 is particularly distressing).
