Audrey Tautou coming to the cinema soon? Finally she answers

Audrey Tautou takes a step back

After several years spent in the spotlight following her unforgettable performance as Amélie Poulain in Jean-Pierre Jeunet’s film, Audrey Tautou has recently moved away from film sets to dedicate herself to other passions and take time to enjoy her loved ones, especially the adopted daughter.

His latest film role dates back to 2019, in the American film The Jesus Rolls by John Turturro (released on VOD only), both sequels to The Big Lebowskiand a modern rereading of Waltz. She recently lent her voice to the animated film Nina and the secret of the hedgehog (released in theaters last October).

An imminent return to the cinema? She replies

In the latest issue of the program “Beau Geste” broadcast on France 2, journalist Pierre Lescure met Audrey Tautou at the Auditorium de La Seine Musicale to ask her about her current situation and, of course, to question her about her desire (or not) to return to film sets. But the main interested party does not yet feel the desire to return to the profession of actress, or at least not yet. In particular, she said she was worried about having to say no to directors she liked if they asked her to star in one of their films:

For the moment I don’t have the impetus to go back yet. There are certain directors, or certain actors, that I adore and who know it, and I say to myself “as long as they don’t offer me anything” because otherwise it will be very difficult to say no.

Among these directors, Audrey Tautou mentions Pierre Salvadori in particular, with whom she filmed Freely in 2018, or Alain Chabat, who offered her the role of Mrs. Claus in Santa Claus and Cietwo of his latest big screen projects.
