Everything except you : romantic comedy in Australia
Directed by Will Gluck (Easy one, Sex between friends), Everything except you tries to revive the old-fashioned romantic comedy. Worn by Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell, the film sees Bea and Ben meet by chance and have an almost perfect first date. But eventually, a misunderstanding separates them and each considers the other a hateful person. Although they never thought they would see each other again, they are reunited thanks to Bea’s sister’s wedding in Australia to Ben’s best friend.
As you might expect, the two will initially have difficulty living together. But seeing that their marriage is in danger of imploding because of them, Bea and Ben decide to pretend to be a couple. A situation that will obviously bring them closer.

With this comedy, Will Gluck creates a series of unusual situations, in particular by ridiculing his protagonists. Because behind Glen Powell’s superhero physique hides a man who can barely swim and who panics at the sight of him of a large spider. This is what we see in a comical scene where Bea and Ben hug to get the attention of their families and friends. But while Bea has her hand on the boy’s buttocks, she pulls out the animal, which makes them panic.
The spider scene went badly for Sydney Sweeney
If the sequence is funny on screen, it was much less so during filming Everything except you. This is what Sydney Sweeney said during the Tonight’s show by Jimmy Fallon. In the supporting video, the actress showed it offa true Sparassidae (“hunter spider” in English) was used to film this scene. Except this one yes he bit the actresswho began to shout: “He bites me, he bites me! It really bites me!“.
The team, believing they were playing, took a while to intervene before Glen Powell understood the situation.
I’m there with a spider on my hand biting me. I shout and everyone watches. And Glen was the only one who started to think that maybe it was real.
The relationship between Sydney Sweeney and the spider in question was off to a good start. Behind-the-scenes footage showed that the actress looked quite comfortable during the preparation.
Fortunately, more fear than harm for Sydney Sweeney, given that the spider bite had no other consequences. However, a medical report from the production was published, which humorously indicated: “Sydney Sweeney, bitten by a spider, now Spider-Woman“. The irony of fate is that at the time of filming the production did not know that the actress had actually been chosen to play Spider-Woman in Mrs. Web.
