Added to Netflix on January 30, 2024, Mortal Kombat took leader of the top 10 films in front of Wilderness hunters AND The Old Furnaces.

An ultraviolent film… and a sequel on the way

This Mortal combat, at the risk of shortcuts and some inconsistencies in its scenario, frankly chooses to delight its audience with fight sequences, and most of them impress with its generosity in producing torrents of blood. Despite a main character who lacks charisma and ends up blending in behind the iconic characters of the universe, we are not bored with this film which ends up laying the foundations for a sequel. And a sequel that promises the return of a character absent in this film: Johnny Cage.

Mortal Kombat 2, again directed by Simon McQuoid, recently finished filming and entered post-production. Its release is scheduled in cinemas, but a a date still unknown. Johnny Cage, movie star and martial arts expert, is a fan-favorite character from the series and will be played by Carlo Urbano. The star of the series The boys it will therefore not be out of place in the next film where it will add humor to the gore.
