A wonderful romantic and family drama
February 14th is not just the date of Valentine’s Day. This year also sees the release of many new products. And there’s a little romance this week in theaters thanks to Without ever knowing each other. Both a fantastic ghost story, a heartbreaking family drama and a touching love story, is THE film to absolutely see this week. The feature film is made by Andrew Scott, Paul Mescal, Jamie Bell and Claire Foy and sees two neighbors get closer. Then, one of them is brought back to his childhood home where he discovers that his long-dead parents are alive and appear to be the same age as the day they died, more than 30 years ago. .
Two very different biopics
Whether you’re a fan of theater or reggae music, there’s something going on this week with the release of two biopics. On one side, The imaginary Molière, focusing on the famous playwright’s final days. The other, Bob Marley: a love, about the iconic musician. Two rooms, two atmospheres, each time with serious topics to attract the public. Like Laurent Lafitte’s performance as Molière, or that of Kingsley Ben-Adir, unrecognizable as Bob Marley. Proof with the trailer below:
Furthermore, even if it is not strictly a biographical film, the release of Life, inspired by director Alix Delaporte’s experience within the reportage and documentary agency CAPA. A gripping film that follows a team of great reporters. A small team that has known each other for years, a real family that fights to provide the information that matters. The story begins with Gabrielle, 30 years old, who joins the editorial team as an intern, and discovers an intense and tiring daily life.

Alix Delaporte’s proposal aims to be realistic, as close to man as possible. With an intelligent staging, which sees his camera navigate around his protagonists, we manage to forget the actors (Alice Isaaz, Roschdy Zem, Vincent Elbaz, Pascale Arbillot, Pierre Lottin and Jean-Charles Clichet, all excellent) for see only these worn out but passionate journalists. A beautiful film to discover.
Traditional comedy
Finally, two comedies will be performed in numerous French theaters: Retirement home 2 AND Dog and cat. The first film starring Kev Adams was a huge success in 2022 with over 2 million viewers. It is therefore logical to continue with almost the same team, except for the inclusion of Jean Reno. For Dog and cat, it is more the audience of La Bande à Fifi that should be targeted since it is the new production of Reem Kherici. The latter is also in front of the camera together with Franck Dubosc and Philippe Lacheau. Here is the synopsis:
Diva, a famous social media star cat, and Chichi, a street dog, lose their respective owners. Then begins a crazy journey between Montreal and New York with on one side the humans who have lost track of their animals and on the other the animals abandoned to themselves in search of their owners…
This week of February 14th is also marked by the release of the superhero movie Mrs. Webwhich was not shown to the press.
