The Boys showrunner talks about Amazon’s policy of “bestiality” and what they were ultimately allowed to show in the Wild Herogasm episode

Spoiler alert! This story contains minor spoilers for the events of The boys Season 3 episode “Herogasm”, you may want to catch up before continuing!

This was the fan episode of The boys the comics wondered if they could ever see and were waiting for the showrunner Eric Kripke confirmed this is happening . “Heroism” brought our favorite Amazon superheroes and antiheroes on a remote island for the annual Vought-sponsored orgy for her super, and managed to deliver what Kripke called “one of the most explicit hours of mainstream television I think anyone has ever seen.” The Prime Video series is known to be off the leash, in terms of violence, nudity, language, etc., but for this latest installment, there was particular concern about the streamer’s stance on bestiality.

Unsurprisingly, it was The Deep (Chace Crawford) who chose to go wild with a sea creature (an octopus, to be exact) during Herogasm, and was told by Eric Kripke television line that there have been conversations with Amazon’s Standards and Practices department regarding their bestiality policy:

We talked a lot this season about the scene with Deep and the octopus. For some insane reason, Standards has a policy against bestiality. They are so rigid, really [laughing]. The discussion about that scene and how we actually made it set off a lot of alarm bells on many different levels on Amazon why you shouldn’t show people fucking animals, and I get it. But my speech in front of them was always like it was so absurd. [that] It wouldn’t be out of place in a Farrelly brothers movie. So it’s hard to call it obscene bestiality. It’s ridiculous. As far as I know, I don’t even think octopuses have holes there. So there has been a lot of talk about what shots are, what we can do and what we can get away with.

Listen, I fully understand that Amazon has a policy against bestiality, but The Deep is so inextricably linked to the underwater world that its attraction to octopuses doesn’t seem so unnatural (wow, The boys It perverted me beyond description, didn’t it?). But I think I can speak for all of us and say that Homelander forced The Deep to eat his octopus friend Timothy, while the sea creature seemingly begged for his life, earlier this season it was infinitely more traumatic ( although PETA loved it ).

Although there is some doubt that Erogasmo was the craziest thing The boys made in season 3 Eric Kripke previously said his jaw was “on the ground” every day in preparation for this episode, telling him. television line was “very surprised” how long Amazon allowed them to go:

When we started doing it with Nelson [Cragg], the director, and he was showing us what he had planned, I was like “Wow, can we show it all?” They checked with the standards and there are some fun rules about how often you can pretend to fuck and whether or not you can show an erect penis and how long you can show a private part. There are all these rules, but we were within the limits of what the rules were. So the answer was that we could show it.

The boys He always went beyond what he could show. The first season saw Hughie kill Translucent with a bomb in the butt, the second gave us this wonderfully disgusting scene inside a whale where they’d just driven a speedboat, and that scene with Termite in the first episode of the third season ? Ugh, I haven’t gotten over it yet.

Chances are we’ll get more or less the same from The boys present: collegeYes Arnold Schwarzenegger’s reaction to photos of his son Patrick on the spin-off set is an indication. If you want to see what Eric Kripke is The boys they will direct next, there are two episodes left this season, with new episodes available to stream with a Amazon Prime subscription every Friday.
