House of the Dragon season 2: HBO reveals broadcast date, it’s coming soon

House of the Dragon: Before Daenerys Targaryen

First spin-off of game of Thrones having been broadcast, the series House of the Dragon takes us back about two centuries before the events of the original series, into the heart of the tumultuous history of the Targaryen dynasty, Daenerys’ ancestors.

Based on the second volume of the novel Fire and blood by George RR Martin, the series explores the genesis and decline of this powerful family, focusing specifically on the bloody civil war better known as the Dance of the Dragons, which laid the foundations for the decline of the Targaryen dynasty.

Season 1 of House of the Dragon centered on the story of the beginnings of the Dance of the Dragons, with the decline and death of King Viserys (Paddy Considine), who was the trigger for the war between the green clanled by Alicent Hightower (Olivia Cooke), and the Dark Clan, led by Rhaenyra (Emma D’Arcy) and Daemon Targaryen (Matt Smith).

The great success of the series quickly led HBO to make a second season official, which should get to the heart of the matter, with the first bloody clashes between the two armies.

See you in June!

We learn through an article from Variety that season 2 of House of the Dragon will arrive next June on HBO. In France, the first season was broadcast on OCS, but the launch of the second could coincide with the arrival of HBO Max in our country. There is therefore a possibility that these new episodes will be available on the Warner Bros. streaming platform. Discovery.

Recall that the last episode of the first season ended on a dramatic note: Rhaenyra discovered that her half-brother Aegon II Targaryen had inherited the Iron Throne in her place (thanks to the help of her mother, Alicent Hightower), and that his eldest son had been killed by Aemond Targaryen, his other half-brother and Alicent’s ally. With her eyes full of anger, Rhaenyra was ready to take revenge and take back the Iron Throne that was destined for her.

In the first images of season 2 of House of the Dragon, the first clashes between the two armies occurred, allowing us to imagine a breathtaking and epic second season. The dragon dance is not far away:
