One of the biggest TV shows on the planet right now is, of course, Netflix. Strange things, which is currently in the midst of a season hiatus, with millions of viewers around the world eagerly awaiting the final two feature films. After that, we’ll be dealing with the stressful wait for the fifth and final season, but at some point my friends, that’s probably when Matt and Ross Duffer and writer Curtis Gwinn get on with their episodic adaptation by Stephen King and Peter Straub the talisman . netflix project, first announced in March 2021 It’s still in development, apparently, according to a new update from the brothers, who also talked about Steven Spielberg’s global influence as an executive producer.
Talk with Variety On Strange thingsThe first seven episodes of season 4, among other monstrous themes, the creators of the horror hit were asked about the upcoming series, for which they will serve as executive producers. This is where Matt Duffer says things are in Talisman to deal.
Is fantastic. So we had a meeting with Steven Spielberg and the other producers. It is very early now. We have a preview right now for the first episode.
While it might sound disappointing in some ways, let’s not forget that there is no set timeline for when this project should happen. And since Curtis Gwinn and the Duffer brothers are working to make sure Strange things nail your final exit, it is best not to disturb anything on that front until there is light at the end of the tunnel. (Hopefully there are no more Russian lasers.)
Even if there is nothing left in its place on the page the talismanThe fit of, you can bet everyone involved is thinking about it as long as they’re not stuck in the Upside Down. And with Steven Spielberg’s name to come, Ross Duffer explained how the iconic director and brand Amblin Entertainment make sense of this project, which may seem too terrifying. (At least as many years after Spielberg’s work on jawsthat’s it.) Here’s how Duffer puts it:
Yes, with Spielberg, I think the really inspiring thing is how much he loves the joy of storytelling, and particularly with this Talisman story, there’s a lot of supernatural stuff: there’s a werewolf, there’s a lot of exciting stuff in course. but at the core, it’s really about a mother and child and their relationship and love for each other. So hopefully the goal is to make sure it actually carries the series. So we are happy with it.
That might not be such a surprising description to hear, given this Strange thingsThe opening hook centered around a son snatched from his increasingly frenetic mother, and the family continued to be a common thread through the series in various ways. And this obviously makes sense from Spielberg and Amblin’s point of view. In the center there are also a mother and her son cujowho Stephen King apparently wrote a sequel to recently, but it doesn’t seem like the best Eastern time main driveway
the talisman It will give the Duffer Brothers the chance to work on the direct adaptation of Stephen King’s novels after being so heavily influenced by the author, both on and off-screen. (King himself noted the bring giveaway in season 4 and also have spin-off ideas but it’s neither here nor there.) We hope to have more news on the adaptation in the near future and check it out all the big shows coming to Netflix during.
