Former Hollywood power broker Adam Venit has been sued by his ex-wife, who accuses him of sexual assault, domestic violence and stalking, saying he “entered a dangerously violent and abusive marriage”.
In a lawsuit filed Sunday in Los Angeles Federal Court, Trina Vanityt alleges that her ex-husband, a former WME agent, “strangled, kicked, kicked, drugged and sexually assaulted her, leaving her bloodied, bruised and hurt. There are too many cases to count.”
Adam Venit, who was once considered a client of Adam Sandler, Casey Affleck and Dustin Hoffman, left WME in September 2018 after he and the company settled a lawsuit against Terry Cruz, who claimed the CEO had sued the actor at a party. in West Hollywood. The Los Angeles Police Department turned the investigation over to state prosecutors, but they ultimately refused to press charges. (The teams fired the WME after he sued.)
The complaint describes in detail numerous cases of alleged violence during the couple’s 20 years of marriage. In one of the most allegedly violent clashes, Adam Venit strangled his ex-wife, prompting her to call the police, according to the complaint. Once the police arrived, he allegedly assured him that he had attempted suicide and was arrested, according to the lawsuit. Adam Venit allegedly used his time away from home to destroy evidence of his violence.
“Adam’s withered heritage in Hollywood cannot and should not serve to protect him,” the complaint reads. “While he may have been ‘untouchable’, he, like any other perpetrator, is not above the law and must be held accountable for his tragic violence.”
Adam Venit filed for divorce in March 2021. His ex-wife received a temporary restraining order for domestic violence three months later. The evidence presented with the restraining order includes several cases of domestic violence and shows that the LAPD seized weapons and ammunition from a former WME officer. The suit alleges that Adam Venit filed his own restraining order to reduce the assault charges against his ex-wife.
Trina Vanity also claims that her ex-husband’s drug, steroid and alcohol abuse is “going out of control”.
The complaint alleges, among other allegations, domestic violence, sexual assault, battery, false arrest and defamation. Trina Venit is represented by Early Sullivan Wright Gizer & McRae, who represented Kreus in his suit.
Endeavor, WME and the attorneys representing Adam Venit in the crew’s lawsuit did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Adam Venit, who currently lives in Hawaii, could not be reached for comment.
