Scream 7: the film is saved with these two iconic returns

Scream 7: The movie has come a long way

The Scream saga, imagined in 1996 by Wes Craven, has established itself as a point of reference in the slasher genre thanks to its clever mix of terror, dark humor and meta commentary on the horror film industry. With the first film that revolutionized the genre and the sequels that followed, the franchise has been very successfulworn by iconic figures such as Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell) and the masked killer, Ghostface.

After a first trilogy, the saga has seen two reboots: the first in 2011 with Screams 4 by Wes Craven and the second in 2022, launched a new trilogy with new directors, Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, mixing original actors and new faces. The latter found great commercial success, allowing the arrival of a sixth film in 2023, albeit marked by the absence of Neve Campbell due to salary reasons.

However, the saga has been in turmoil in recent months, particularly regarding the development of Screams 7. The project has been rocked by numerous controversies and significant departures: Melissa Barrera was fired after commenting on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, Jenna Ortega, another star of this reboot, left due to scheduling conflicts, and director Christopher Landon also withdrew from the project.

But last-minute information gave the film hope.

Neve Campbell is back and she’s not alone!
