Brad Winderbaum, head of TV, streaming and animation at Marvel Studios, confirmed that Beau DeMayo is no longer part of the company
After the news about the sudden departure of Beau DeMayowho worked on Moon Knight(2022) and in the still unreleased X-Men ’97from Marvel, Brad Winderbaumhead of TV, streaming and animation at Marvel Studios, commented on the alleged dismissal of the creator, screenwriter and showrunner of the studio’s new animation, which premieres this Wednesday (20) on Disney+.
“I can’t give all the details, but I can say that he had respect and passion for the characters and wrote what I consider to be excellent scripts, which the rest of the team was able to use as inspiration to create this incredible series”declared to the EntertainmentWeekly. Winderbaum still refused to comment on whether DeMayo had been fired: “I can’t talk about it. We went our separate ways, that’s the best I can say.”
According to information from the The Hollywood Reporterthe screenwriter had completed the episodes of the 2nd season of the animation, was already working on ideas for the 3rd year and was preparing for the launch of the new feature, with a premiere in Hollywood scheduled for this Wednesday (13).
The reason for the dismissal was not revealed and both Marvel and DeMayo did not respond to the publication’s requests to comment on the writer’s departure a week before the premiere of the company’s new series, on March 20th. The author has worked at the company since November 2021.

X-Men ’97the classic series about Marvel’s mutants, will continue the story that ended previously in the 5th season, shown in 1997.
