While there are countless Christmas movies, there are far fewer ones related to the festive Halloween events. But there’s also the fan-favorite Disney movie of 1993. Hocus Pocus. Generations have grown up thanks to the shoddy classic, so news of a sequel with the original cast hit the internet. As you can see above, the first trailer revealed the September 30 release date, while also including limited footage from Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy. The first images of Hocus Pocus 2 focuses on new young protagonists who will apparently face off against the Sanderson sisters during the mysterious runtime of the streaming project. The trio stars Whitney Peak, Lilia Buckingham and Belissa Escobedo. They try to use magic on their own and end up lighting the infamous black flame candle. And so (lol) the witches come back.
That’s when the three iconic returning actresses show up for a short but thrilling scene Hocus Pocus 2trailer of. The couple are asked if they are looking for the scene, prompting Winnie to say “always” as her sisters smile in response. It’s a limited sequence, but that doesn’t make it any less exciting. After all, her portrayal of “I Put A Spell On You” is one of the most iconic moments from the 1993 original film.
With Hocus Pocus 2 With only a few months left to stream, it makes sense that Disney + could kick off the film’s marketing campaign. Along with the trailer, an eye-catching poster was also shared as you can see below.
You know you’ve played an iconic role when only your silhouette is recognizable. This is certainly the case with Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy, who have apparently reverted to their characters of Winnie, Sarah and Mary Sanderson respectively. Although the images are limited and the details of Hocus PocusThe sequel is still kept under wraps, with the project in the works for decades, with the original becoming more of a cult classic.
In addition to the three witches, Hocus Pocus 2 will also feature the return of Doug Jones as Billy Butcherson. There are also some familiar faces in the form of Veep’s Tony Hale and Sam Richardson (the latter appears in this preview). Ted Lasso’s stunning Hannah Waddingham also plays a role in the project.
