The horrible version of Bambi is revealed
After imagining Winnie the Pooh as serial killer, cinema continues to take Disney classics and offer horrible versions of them. The next victim of this funny trend will be Bambi, in Bambi: The Showdown. Directed by Dan Allen, the film should be in line with Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey. Which isn’t necessarily reassuring since it was voted worst film of 2023 at the Razzie Awards. However, the feature film made on a micro-budget was largely profitable, grossing over $5 million in revenue worldwide.
Rhys Frake-Waterfield then decided to make a sequel, Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 2which received surprisingly positive feedback from early viewers (81% favorable reviews on Rotten tomatoes). He is also the one who produces this Bambi: The Showdownwhich is revealed with a first teaser (on the first page of an article).
In the promotional video we see two men training to hunt. The first asks the second if he has ever hunted a deer. We imagine they will be responsible for it the death of Bambi’s mother, and that the animal will then unleash its anger. We can also see him attacking a car. The video is short, but it gives a good idea of the drama that is brewing…
Next up are Pinocchio and Peter Pan
In addition to Winnie the Pooh and Bambi, other characters popularized by Disney will undergo similar treatment, since their original works are fallen into the public domain – Bambi is adapted from the novel by Felix Salten Bambi, the story of a life in the woods published in 1923. Rhys Frake-Waterfield does not intend to stop there. The director seems to have found the right vein as he will then produce Pinocchio: without strings and stage Peter Pan’s Neverland Nightmarebefore bringing together all these beautiful people as the Avengers.
There is no doubt that some will find pleasure in watching these films. They have yet to reach us. Self Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey was released on VOD here on July 18, 2023, Rhys Frake-Waterfield’s upcoming horror productions have not been no date yet.
