The curse: the origina horror film not to be missed this week!
We didn’t particularly expect it, and yet The curse: the origin is one of the films that convinced us the most this week of April 10th. The prequel to The curse (1976) by Richard Donner finds its originality in the approach of director Arkasha Stevenson, who places the possession of the female body at the center of this horror film. The story follows Margaret, a young nun who enters an orphanage in Rome in the early 1970s. It is there that she discovers that part of the Church is experimenting on women to give birth to the Antichrist.
From this fantastic story, the filmmaker creates a nightmarish and committed work to which he pays particular homage Possession (1981) with Isabelle Adjani. All brought by Nell Tiger freea magnificent revelation that “alone justifies the discovery of the film” (see our opinion).

Still in the fantasy genre, but this time for a family audience, it comes out in theaters this week Ghostbusters: The Ice Age. Direct continuation of Ghostbusters: Legacy (2021), the film is in line with the previous work. That is, a not unpleasant family adventure, even if it doesn’t reinvent the saga.
Discovering Leave the night and the bearded lady
It’s called the other big movie release We, the Leroys, a comedy brought forward by Charlotte Gainsbourg and José Garcia. Unfortunately, even though we expect to laugh a lot and be emotional, the film never follows through on its good ideas. Contrary to Leave the night, this fantastic first feature film that acts as a counterpoint to the thriller to immerse us in the drama of sexual violence. Here is the synopsis:
One night, a woman in danger calls the police. Anna answers the call. A man is arrested. Weeks pass, justice searches for evidence, Aly, Anna and Dary face the echoes of that night that they can’t leave behind.
Finally, the romantic drama Rosalia it should make him talk. Worn by Nadia Tereszkiewicz and Benoît Magimel, the film features a young woman in 1870s France who is hiding a secret. A secret that Abel will discover after marrying her. What emerges is a moving portrait and a great love story led by two top actors. Watch the trailer below:
